Sharing the learning from Everyday Swim

We are determined to share what we learn through Everyday Swim. This website is one of the key ways we will be doing this.

By providing candid information on our successes and failures we hope others will have the confidence to make evidence based investments in improving their swimming provision and communication, driving up participation levels across the country.

Independent monitoring and evaluation

Appointed by a Sport England and ASA Panel to monitor and evaluate the project, the Sport Industry Research Centre (SIRC) at Sheffield Hallam University has been working closely with the Everyday Swim team since October 2006.

Director Simon Shibli heads a project team of 6 researchers who have been assigned specific Everyday Swim projects to cover. For more on the monitoring and evaluation process click here.

As the project progresses monitoring and evaluation information will be placed on these pages and even as things stand you will find lots of really useful information on:

  • The nature and state of swimming.
  • Background information for each of the project areas outlining supply and demand for swimming at the baseline.
  • Findings from SIRC’s secondary analysis of the Active People data.
  • Reports on some of the early interventions.

This will be one of the most important and fast-expanding areas of the website so keep an eye on these pages in the months to come.
