Joining up with existing projects and working with partners to develop new initiatives, Everyday Swim in Easington will focus on tackling obesity in young people, and aims to increase the level of activity in the district as a whole.

Children across the North East are being given the opportunity to meet Olympic Diving Silver medallist Leon Taylor, Double Commonwealth gold medallist Chris Cook and Commonwealth water polo medallist Fran Leighton during a Fun Day Event on December 2nd.
Peterlee Leisure Centre is set to host a family fun day on November 22nd, with the aim of tackling obesity.
A new initiative launched by the District of Easington Everyday Swim project and the Positive Futures Scheme will take traditional classroom based lessons to the pool to encourage the development of young people’s maths and science skills.
Residents of Easington will be able to benefit from using swimming as part of a fitness programme thanks to a link between the asa’s Everyday Swim programme, Slimming World and Northumbrian Water.
A new ASA Swimfit Unit has been installed at Peterlee Leisure Centre.
