Welcome to Everyday Swim Wirral!

Thank You for visiting Wirral’s section of the website. My name is Fiona Pantrich and I have now been in post since August 07. Let me tell you a little bit of my background experience. I have worked with Wirral Council since leaving school in June 1989 and started out as a Beach Lifeguard. I then went to work indoors as a lifeguard, where I also qualified as a swimming teacher, aqua fit instructor and a pool lifeguard trainer assessor. From there I went onto become a duty manager at a couple of sites. So I know the systems of the centres and most of the staff. This previous experience and knowledge of the sites has assisted me greatly in this role.

The focus for the Wirral pilot is the Over 50’s, so we will be looking at different ways of engaging this age group and encouraging them to swim on a regular basis. We have six pools on Wirral, one of which is undergoing a major refurbishment and is due to reopen in September 08. When The Oval does reopen it will be a warmer water pool, which will make it an excellent facility for people with mobility problems.
