Hi, my name is Matt Shields and I am the Everyday Swim Co-ordinator for Everyday Swim Telford and Wrekin and I would like to welcome you to the Telford and Wrekin project pages of everydayswim.org.

The project has a focus on improving access to water based opportunities for people with a disability and low-income children and their families.

Everyday Swim Telford and Wrekin is developing organically with the local community at the heart. The project is to working with the local community to create bold, new, exciting and sustainable ideas for increasing participation from disadvantaged and disability groups. The Council currently offers free swimming to disadvantaged groups including disabled people and children in receipt of free school meals. 

However, consultation with non-users has shown that cost is often not the main, or only barrier to participation. The project will also introduce an aquatic element to existing projects as well as looking at new avenues to increase participation.
