Suffolk
Welcome to Everyday Swim Suffolk!
The Suffolk project is the only county-wide Everyday Swim project. The focus for Everyday Swim Suffolk is on young people aged 5-19, people aged 45 plus, and access for those living in rural areas.
The ASA, Suffolk County Council, Suffolk Sport and other partners are working to:
- Identify the barriers to swimming by engaging the community.
- Increase participation in these groups across the county including through better programmes and activities, and,
- Enable the development of a sustainable swimming strategy for these groups.
There’s lots more information on what we have done so far and what’s coming up on these pages. If you have any suggestions/comments/ questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Sir Clive Woodward, England’s World Cup-winning former Rugby Union coach is to speak at the ASA’s first ever Council Conference.
The swimming industry is being given a unique opportunity to learn how to get more people into the pool more often.
New figures released today show that young people and senior citizens have taken the plunge more than 4.4 million times thanks to the Government’s £140m free swimming initiative – a key part of plans to ensure a lasting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by getting more people physically active.
The ASA has today revealed how it will help shape the government’s Free Swimming initiative so swimming becomes a key activity in getting the country off their sofas and more active.
If you have any questions about the project, please feel free to get in touch by emailing me at:
